Bronze
medal 2002 Australian Small Winemakers Show
The 2002 Chardonnay is a blend of fruit flavours from the
vineyard and subtle winemaking influences. The juice was handled
oxidatively in the winery, which helped develop complexity.
Part way through fermentation the juice was run off to American
Oak to finish ferment. Far from dominating, the oak combined
with partial lees contact gives the wine a supporting framework
and creaminess on the palate. It all serves to make the wine
a delight to taste.
Colour:
Brilliant straw with green tinges
Aroma: Subtle
citris and lime fruit aromas with a hint of oak in the background
Palate: A generous,
full-flavoured palate showing sweet fruit and nutty oak development.
Creamy and honey-like mid palate flavours with a delicate
acid finish. |
